ADVANCE NOTICE OF CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY – BIRD SURVEY

Parsons, as the Main Construction Manager (MCM) for the Giant Mine Remediation Project (GMRP), and acting as both the Mine Manager and Prime Contractor, will be soliciting a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Bird Survey at Giant Mine, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Work will consist of developing and implementing a bird survey at Giant Mine. The objectives of this work are to document bird use of specific areas of the site, support environmental compliance, and demonstrate due diligence to the federal Migratory Bird Convention Act and Species at Risk Act and the Northwest Territories Species at Risk Act and Wildlife Act.
The work will include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Preparing a fieldwork schedule and a bird survey plan for the program
- Conducting a visual bird survey during bird nesting season
- Initiate field surveys at a frequency of twice a week in early May 2021 until approximately mid-June 2021
Work is anticipated to start in May 2021.
