ADVANCE NOTICE OF CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY – FRESHWATER INTAKE CONSTRUCTION

Solicitation No. RFP-476721-0074

Parsons, as the Main Construction Manager (MCM) for the Giant Mine Remediation Project (GMRP),and acting as both the Mine Manager and Prime Contractor, will be soliciting a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Freshwater Intake Construction at Giant Mine, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This project is an open water intake with a portable pumping system and truck fill stations. This system will take care of the water requirement for the upcoming Project Implementation Plan (PIP) program.
This work will include the following major components, but is not limited to, the following:

    Movable electric-driven dual pump unit
    Floating suction box
    Overhead truck fill stations
    Truck fill control shed
    HDPE pipeline from bay to core industrial area (CIA)
    Gravel pads for pumps/truck fill stations
    Culverts at road crossings
    Power supply & control systems

The successful bidder is required to supply all manpower and materials and provide necessary engineering and installation, integrate the various components for the successful operation of the system and demonstrate pre-open water assembly and post-open water disassembly of the system.

Work is anticipated to start during 2023 construction season. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is anticipated during fourth quarter of 2022.

Competitive proposals will be solicited using the MERX Canadian Public Tenders website to select the best value firm to deliver the product to the Giant Mine in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
